Our new gallery is located at 333 West Colorado Avenue. Please stop by next time you are in Telluride!

This expansion will allow us to serve both our artists and our patrons better. Our larger painting inventory will be actively rotated between the two galleries. By doing this we can offer more paintings to an increased patronage base. This expansion of our market base makes the gallery more attractive to top artists, and we have already added a handful of very top shelf artists to our roster.

We’re pleased to share that Walt Gonske, who is among the most highly regarded and collected landscape painters in the country, has provided us paintings for both galleries. Kenn Backhaus, Bill Gallen and Jill Carver, all nationally recognized painters, have also joined the gallery.

Ralph Oberg has just provided us our first large Oberg landscape for sale entitled Approaching Telluride.

Up and coming impressionistic painter, Gregory Packard has given us a spectacular group of new paintings.

Also, Don Sahli, a leading mid-career painter from Colorado has provided two paintings. Don is an excellent painter and a popular workshop teacher. He will be teaching a three-day workshop with the OBJ Gallery on July 5, 6, and 7th 2013, in Crested Butte. Please contact the gallery at 970-349-5936 for registration details and supply list.

Come by the Crested Butte or Telluride galleries to see some of the most exciting landscape paintings of the day!

Susiehyer paintings included in book on Art of the National Parks

We are excited to share that two paintings by Susiehyer are included in a brand new book, “Art of the National Parks: Historic Connections, Contemporary Interpretations.” The book is co-authored by Jean Stern and Susan Hallsten McGarry.

As the Executive Director of the Irvine Museum, Stern is a curator, lecturer, teacher and a noted authority on California Impressionism. McGarry, the Editor of Southwest Art Magazine for 18 years, currently writes and curates. The book promises to be the definitive National Park Fine Art publication for years to come. It features many prominent artists such as Clyde Aspevig, Kenn Backhaus (Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational Emeritus), John Budicin, Scott Christensen, Kevin MacPherson, Ralph Oberg (OBJ gallery artist and Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational Emeritus), Jim Wilcox, and Curt Walters, among others.

Susiehyer’s Cub Lake Trailhead by Starlight will be included in the book. This 18″x24″ oil painting was made in Rocky Mountain National Park and won “Best of Show” at the Plein Air Rockies 2011, a plein air painting event held in Estes Park, CO.
