Dave Santillanes Exhibition

Through his use of gentle, dramatic light and seductively soft color, Dave Santillanes’s paintings bring you with him into pastoral valleys and the wilds of the Colorado high country.

For Dave, a painting begins its life with a visit into the landscape and a plein air study. Then, back at his studio he reinterprets the earlier impression, searching for the same composition, palette, and mood that inspired him. This process develops his concepts into finely expressed, often monumental works of art.
