An Evening with Bronze Sculptor George Bumann

Oh Be Joyful Gallery at Crested Butte is thrilled to introduce you to Montana-based bronze sculptor George Bumann.

George’s insight into the wildlife of North America and the inspiration he draws from decades sculpting in the field come together in a presentation about wild animals, their ecology, and the importance of understanding our relationship to all of it.

A frequent lecturer in Yellowstone National Park, George’s stories offer insight into his unique understanding and first-hand experiences with the animals of the Mountain West. He will share through live sculpting how he observes and incorporates concepts such as pride, playfulness, and determination into his gestural sculptures, inspiring you to find your own connections to wilderness. George’s bronzes range from small maquette to monumental life-size pieces. His work is in the permanent collections at the C.M. Russell, The Brinton, and the National Museum of Wildlife Art.
